The Replacement Raised-Floor Tile
Raised floor grommet is a heavy duty steel raised-floor tile with 2 or 3 large cable cut-outs.
These cable cut-outs are fitted with a double layered brush strip preventing valuable conditioned air from escaping.
The 600mm square tile tappers to 595mm to allow for easy removal , tile height is dependant on the existing tiles but is generally 42mm deep.
These double brushed tiles increase static pressure under the raised floor,
and prevent conditioned air from escaping and so improves cooling capacity,
This also saves time by removing the need to cut existing floor tiles
An all in one solution
The KoldLok Surface Mount raised-floor grommet
Is designed to fit in active raised-floors
to seal cable openings without affecting operations. The Surface Mount unit pulls apart into
two halves and is then positioned around the cables.
Based on measurements at multiple Data Centres, between 50% - 80% of conditioned air
is not reaching the air intake of IT equipment due to unsealed flooring openings.
This lost air, known as bypass airflow, contributes to IT equipment hot spots, cooling unit
inefficiencies and increasing infrastructure costs. By sealing cable cut-outs with KoldLok
grommets you can address this bypass airflow, so drastically improving the cooling
capacity within the data centre and preventing the detrimental effects bypass airflow has.
Aluminium floor mount grommets
Cool control consists of a solid aluminium frame containing nylon fibre brushes and a specially integrated internal barrier that seamlessly wraps around cables and other equipment that is inserted through the openings in the Data Centre raised floor. The openings are sealed meaning that no valuable cooled air can escape. This clever but simple solution can increase the efficiency of your Data Centre cooling, and increase the effectiveness of your cooling systems and result in significant energy savings.
The circular floor grommets
Energy efficient circular surface-mount cable seal consists of a single brush spiral and a holder. The geometry of the brush provides an intrinsically more efficient seal, completely surrounding the cables. Additionally, polygonal filaments are used which nest and interlock to provide a more effective brush seal than brushes constructed with ordinary round filaments.
The AJ series include a single-piece holder for new installations where cables have not yet been installed. The surface-mount cable seals come with a two-piece holder enabling installation around existing cable. For enhanced security a version can be supplied with a 2 in long PVC pipe to provide edge protection (EP).
Available in 2 sizes to cover the maximum hole diameters of 114mm and 171mm (4.5” and 6.75”) surface and integral versions.
Air gap foam
An easy and flexible way to seal cable cutouts and other floor penetrations at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions.
Self-forming foam conforms to any area where it is inserted, blocking cold air from escaping into open spaces. The foam sheets are scored into a “tear-to-size” perforated 1”x1” grid so they can be easily separated along the perforations to make any size or shape needed.
The PolarDAMTM air dam foam is fire retardant and meets the UL-94-HF-1 rating. It also has stable physical properties and retains its integrity over time.
Fire proof air stop pillows
Description
A true intumescent pillow is made from a hardwearing fireproof glass cloth, filled with a
fireproof sponge and intumescent. Type P/S is a soft pliable pillow that enables
awkward areas to be filled, to stop the flow of air/smoke
e.g. around cables, pipes and services.
Use
Pillows are used for packing into gaps around pipes, cables, and over cable trays. They can
be fitted to any size of opening, and give permanent / temporary fire protection and smoke
sealing. Suitable for computer/clean/sterile areas. Can be used for overnight protection
where work is in progress. To ensure pillows are not lost, they can be fitted with a tag and
loop and wired together for security – they can be taken out and retained for re-insertion.
Performance
This product was included in a fire resistance test employing general procedures & criteria
of BS476 Part 22 (1987). An integrity of 128 minutes was achieved (compressible type
240 minutes). Also tested at VNE to European Standard EN1363-1 (2000).
